Is it a standard gray tire plug or a thing orange ?

I had one in my truck that wouldnt hold and a buddy of mine came over with a THICK plug.It was orangeish in color but really a heavy duty plug.Thousands of miles later and still going strong. Also, use the rubber cement on the plug.

Can you post a pic of the offending hoop with the hole/patch clearly marked.  I did spend a little time in the tire industry.  I was a peon at a big chain store.  Mind you I wasn't very good at it but I learned a lot.  I patched one of my own snow tires that had a razor blade broken off into it right on the cusp of being unrepairable.

Hi fellas,
I got a nail in my tire and the plug won't quite hold.  I took the wheel/tire to the local tire shop and they were unable to get the tire off the wheel.  they got it half off but said it must have been stretched on and they were afraid to tear up the pretty side of the rim.
any insight into this issue? tricks?
i might try another tire shop but this is an oldschool shop and they've been willing to do stuff other big shops won't even look at. (patch a runflat)
the setup is 6x10 revolutions with yokohama a008's
thanks!
