The screws  go on the leading edge of the door, where the skin folds over, outside of the dooor cavity. The longer studs would be used in conjunction with the angled spacer that matches the curvature of the door on the upper hinge.

Fitting a new set of external hinges on my car. The kit has 4 screws, 4 long studs and 8 short studs. My original hinges had all sorts of different hardware holding them on so I don't know where any of the new stuff goes.
Where do each of the sizes and styles go?
