i got what they called the  serpent ( not the mini movie) manifold, exhaust and intake manifolds are conjoined together, (i'd rather call it siamese manifold). i think you are right sir Dan,i need to take the manifold and  carb to get to the fuel pump. But guess what, after fiddling with my carb, it wasn't the fuel pump after all, i guess i adjusted the carb too lean that's why it stalled on me ONCE yesterday at the traffic light with the wife., and when i turn the key on, it fired right up .  last night  i took off the top part of the carb and clean it with my new favorite ,the Berryman chemtool. as soon as the chemtool gets in contact with the soothe,i can see it melts away., i also mix chemtool in my gas, after about a day, i notice the big difference., it surpasses the power of seafoam,i don't like seafoam anymore, they are $6.98 can, and chemtool is only $2.65 and i can see it's working., , and i also stretched the spring a little bit and put 20/50 oil on the damper, this morning it runs like a vtec.(minus the noise) I'm so happy!

All good answers!
Yes, depending on the exhaust manifold installed, and the tools available, a mechanical pump can be removed and replaced. One hard part is cleaning off the old gaskets from both the block and the spacer. I did it and my hands are not small by any means.

Simple question simple answer. Thought some of the folks (well those that still come here) who had "listened" to the ramblings of the "specialist" from days gone by would understand the association of my answer. Look on you Tube would have been another that came to mind. Glad it gave you a chuckle J.

Thanks Malcolm.

Although a great answer I viewed it as a "Friday funny".

Thanks for a chuckle.
