Either buy a cheap scanner for about $40 or take it to a shop and clear the code then see if the check engine light comes back on.
Check out the northamericanmotoring site as they cater more to the MINI crowd this forum is more classic Mini's.

- Anyone know? would be great not to buy a part for a problem that is going to resolve itself.

Ok my engine light came on this morning after I cleaned my engine last night (oil changed and filter dripped). I took it by advanced auto and my code read high voltage o2 sensor bank 1. I brought home thinking it may have moisture in the electrical connections and applied electric grease to all connections and engine light still on. I disconnected the negative battery post hoping that may help but...not. Will the computer reset itself?
