fMix. I'm up for awhile it's 1:00. However, my wife got me a new phone tonight so I'm not sure I can work it. But a picture is worth a million words. If I can't figure it out She can do it out in the morning. If I remember the wiring it runs up the B post on the left...maybe. Text them anytime as the phone is in the other room hooked into the computer. ohh 509-230-6057

Thanks

tothefloor If it is ok I will take a few pictures of my Mini's courtesy light switches and text them to you.  I am over the mountains in Everett and I got off work at 11:30pm.  Let me know when a good time to text you is.  I don't want to wake you.  Or if anyone knows how to easily load pictures direct from an Android I will load to here.  I have tried before but failed, I've had to bring them in to work and load to photobucket, then link them.

Any used these or the plastic version to replace an earlier version circa 1965? They were simple push round switches.

The wiring is very simple - each switch has one wire, from the courtesy light. When the door is shut, it holds the core of the switch in, keeping the circuit open. When you open the door, the switch extends, closing the circuit and grounding the lamp. Living in the door post, the switch eventually corrodes or gets enough dirt to no longer make proper contact.

.

those are regular courtesy light switches that mount to the door jamb

the late model ones are mostly resin, the early ones were metal

I am sorry about that my friend.  It just struck me because my late father whom of which hated doing tedious anything with computers.  He was able to not only post on here but on a certain Moke MB that I have tried and tried and haven't been able to figure out.  E-mail to me [email protected] and will be happy to take care of it for you.  Stay strong my friend.

No, I haven't even tried that...I have had a stroke...that supposedly I am recovering from. Dan gave me instructions that I couldn't follow at all...I do have a couple other ideas...I think, and remember I (or someone likewise seated) could be on the road behind you. Cheers

It really isn't that hard to post pictures.  If you are talking about resizing them in order to post here there are plenty of videos on how to do that.  What I am almost sure you meant to say is you can't be bothered to resize pictures.  That I can agree with.

Do you have any more info or pictures? I'm not sure I know which lights you are talking about.
