I had a Cagiva Moke. Real comfortable. The 998 engine was nice. Built in roll bar was great. The final drive gear and suspension was terrible. Too much the highway car. Needed a shorter gear. The extra weight needed a stiffer suspension.  Fix these two things and get rid of the ugly hubcaps and you got a really good Moke.

Nothing wrong with them, it is a matter of perception, as Moke production evolved from the original basic, bare bones UK 1964 models Thru the OZ experience up to the short lived Portuguese era they became more "fancy" although most changes were made for safety reasons

To each his own

And we must not forget the Chinese knock off period

Where will they build them next "Slovenia" LOL

Big AL PS I say Slovenia as some pretty nice models have came from there ?

2-3 days ago, l looked on Mini Mania, " Cars for Sale" and saw what looked to be a Portuguese Moke for sale in NY

Having just sold my U.K. Moke and feeling a little "sellers remorse", l said, Hey, l need it and wanted to buy it as a Xmas present for myself

So, l gathered up $12k U S and went to bid on it and guess what the listing was gone !!!!

Two. Days later it re-appeared, showing sold, sold, sold, well you get the picture So, anyone on here scoop it out from under my nose ???

Mind you, l am not a big fan of Portuguese Mokes but this one looked real clean and with a brand new top and winter side curtains-

Mokes are hardly ever coming up for sale anymore especially in that condition and at a reasonable price

Maybe B C in Earle NC was the thief LOL
