Was looking out the window today at a buddies boat, all four tyres appeared flat? so I walk over and find water lapping the deck! still had the bilge bung in and four days of heavy rain had filled the bucket so speak. guess I'll be trying to dry out the motor and get it running before it seizes up after it drains.........................

Went for a quick drive thru town to cycle that additive you add to the fuel to prevent build up in the carbs and fuel lines.  Same thing with the 911 and they are tucked away in the garage till spring.

Minus 26 deg. C here last night, not counting wind chill. No chance of my boots getting wet. Boots and car tires squeak on snow. Rubber gas line hose on my daily driver cracked at fuel rail on top of the engine... again. Too Fr*****g cold to deal with it.

Question: does inhaling gasoline fumes increase your blood pressure?

JEEZ...my wet sock froze in my boot when it hit -10 C/14 F.

Yes, that's the most snow the Aussie Van has seen.  A dusting last year but with the current dry cold, snow is evaporating.

We did have frost in Glen Innes, New South Wales on the August/mid-winter 2011 'test drive' before the 70-day One Lap trip and frost in Tarraleah, Tasmania during the springtime trip to tour the island and attend Mini Fest in Hobart in 2013.

Since then the only snow ROO has seen was in Yosemite on the way home from MMW in San Diego after climbing up over Tioga Pass.

Mine is routed through the intake manifold, even though the Mini hibernates once the snow (and road salt) arrive. pretty much necessary, I'd expect - considering early Minis to Canada were fitted with dashpot warmers and heated spacers under the carb.

Is that the first significant amount of snow that Aussie van has seen Rick?

HA!  We had snow for about a day and a half before it melted.  "Cold" for us just north of Seattle is -5C or so.  And really cold is -10C.  We rarely see -10C though.  Maybe just one or two nights a year.  I remember the winter of 2008.  I only had my RSX back then and it was a few miles to work.  Had to walk about a mile to the main road for a ride from a coworker.  I eventually was making enough money to be able to afford an AWD and it hasn't snowed since.....  Go figure.

Hoping that Christmas 2016 does not mirror Christmas 2008.  Fortunately, I still had my old JEEP and could use it as a breakwater to keep the snow plows from covering the sidewalk.

Things here in Niagara on Lake Erie, no snow, sitting at zero, windy off the Lake but the real winter will arrive in the new year.

Minis are now all tucked away, warm and dry

I got home at 5 am today after Escort Driving (in the Jeep) for Operation Red Nose (we work in teams of 3 - Designated Driver, Navigator & Escort Driver, driving people home in their vehicles from parties).

We faced rain on & off, rapid melt with lots of running water and some large puddles.  2 C - 4 C overnight and at 4 C as I drove home after signing out at 4:45 am.

No new snow in Mission, our last drop off in the snowy highland.  Nice & warm at 2 C.

Now some 2.5 C here in Pitt Meadows with the melt continuing...we'll see what the overnight brings.

(the rest of Canada loves to laugh at the wet coast when we have to experience actual winter, to be fair, it's because we are so smug the rest of the time)
