I've been avoiding driving it since then and using my other car.

I've ordered the parts and have a friend who's willing to do it for me to save on labor costs, but he's about 35-40 miles away--I can either take the interstate or the highway to get there.

Should I just change them myself? Or is it safe to drive that distance so long as I don't push my car too hard? I'm worried about damaging something else, or breaking down on the side of the road. Honestly, even though I'm no mechanic, the videos on youtube don't make it look all that hard, and so I'm tempted to do it myself. O_O

Good or bad idea?

Advice and tips would be greatly appreciated!
If the issue is with the plug and/or coils, it shouldn't damage the car.  It may not run very smooth, but it shouldn't harm the engine.

Changing the plugs and coils is not difficult, but it may require some tools you may or may not have.  You need a torque wrench to torque the spark plugs to the factory specification.  You also need a spark plug socket (a simple deep socket will not hold the plug as you remove it).  It is also advisable to have a locking extension so the socket does not stay on the plug when you go to remove the tool.
