All I can say Kevin is that as an impact absorber, I am glad never to have found out about breaking or bending.  And, I do like the idea of 2 engine steadies up top.   Rick

PS - Might, just might get down to North Rocks for a quick trip after I get back to Australia in April. GR is going to work the 12G295 head for me prior to a rebuild with overbore of the 1098 in ROO.  If time is short may have to ship the head south & back up to Brisbane before I fly home in late June.

I just picked up an Aussie Mini and the dogbone is different with a bend down the bulkhead to the engine downward about an inch.

Thanks for all the information, great site, I kind of feel it won't make that big of a difference to my survival in a crash, going with the plastic jesus song instead, I would be happy to add it to your collection Dan and I am hoping to be at MME in June, could hand it off then if you are attending.

Actually Rick, they are grey cast iron, the wiggle is a stress point, they break rather than bend in a good crash.

I thought I had a collection of dog bones. I love that one never seen one like it. One of the fellows with a shop space in the same complex my shop is located in and I do what we call road kill collecting. Anything placed by the road side for big truck collection is fair game. I recently hit the jack pot. I got a six foot glass display case with shelves. At the same place I also got one of these 50cc Scooters with a bad 10 dollar starter. The display case is now in my shop and as I clean up I'm placing rare and NOS bits in it. A follow up on my picture collection, We have 1300 up loaded and working on getting them into folders. Once that's done we will load another 1000 give or take. If I learn to post pictures I will drive you crazy with them. Steve (CTR)

Thanks for the reply, is it supposed to clear something, or just a more complicated way to get to the other mounting location? I will clean it up and use it, if for the latter reason

Common on Aussie Minis...my 1098 has 2, both ends of the engine.  The one in your photo for back end of head (#4 cylinder).
