owner just confirmed that they're for seat belts. i don't know why they were plugged and painted over.

outside access hole is for the deep socket to steady the bolt head of the seat belt mount....??

I was thinking seat belts too Dennis but the pic through the window shows the belt location and it looks a lot higher. I would not call it a deal breaker even if you decided to eliminate the bolts/screws it would not cost too much to match and blend that small area in and could be easily done with the body line and roof gutter.

Is it possible the mount for the three point seat belt was added and secured though the holes plugged? That was quick, have you become a mini flipper? Steve (CTR)

Currently I am Mk1 mini shopping to replace the Cooper rally replica i just sold and so I inquired about this Mk1 i found online that i'm interested in buying. My question is there are these two plugs on both sides of the car located infront of the rear passenger window hinge. It's weird and i haven't seen anything like it before. Anybody know what could've been mounted there? Weird car...
