Price on a new 1966 Moke stll sitting on a dealers floor in 1968: $1500. And no way I could come up with the money.

I remember in 1968-69 the price for a S in Hamilton Ontario was $2,500 that was the price sign painted on the window of the local BMC dealer.

I can buy the E mokes direct from china for $5800 USD.. same as www.acgcars.com in LA.. all coming from JNC in china..  also the new e mokes from Wuhu Energy coming this summer..with the newer body style.  think they will be $16k here in the USA.. the chinese will sell to ANYONE I have found. if you have CASH  in hand.. later bc

wolfman, no panels ever replaced on the 67 Moke and none need replacing, cleanest used un-restored Moke I've seen. 

One re-spray during the 50 yrs. It has been used, many scratches on the body, and surface rust under the drivers floor.

pop your S motor in this baby and save the restoration effort.

$2,844 in 1965 is approximately $21,700 in today's money, adjusted for inflation.

Add about $10,000 worth of regulation required crash protection & emission reduction, and also the necessary "life style" upgrades (power seats, fancier controls, etc. etc.), plus some rust protection(!) and that price starts to be right around what a BMW Mini costs today!

Car is long gone, rusted away in 1970, Michigan winter salted roads did a job on it.
I saved the motor and just had Mini Mania do a complete rebuild including the transmission.
