well..   the problem is NO BMHT cert.for OZ coopers.s  . as it should  have fetched $60 large easy..with one.  same with VW split windows buses  from Brazil.. fetch only about a THIRD of the VW splits made Germany..( I exported 17 VW splits buses back to the UK last year)  later b c  ps. I was able to get BMHT cert on NZ cooper few years ago.. as they imported to NZ as CKDs. and  has records for the NZ minis but NOT the OZ ones...

The Aussie number plate looks legitimate.  I know as I have one as well on my Aussie Mini.  The numbers and letters seldom follow the lines.  The stamping on the radiator cowl looks good too.

The #4 Sparkplug is clearly threaded in too far and is therefore mis-timed. You can tell because the spark plug wire boot is pointed at the 4 o'clock position, when all of the others are at the 8-9o'clock position. That's like 8 more hours of rotation. That means there's been spark plug recession due to the use of high ethanol content fuels here in the US. This thing NEEDS imported fuel. There's no way around that. That thing must run like crap with cyl #4 so far out of time. Who rebuilt that thing?

I guess it'd be ok if you switched to digital timing and the wireless conversion. But the way it sits now is a bunch of bull$h!t.

SAD.

I love you Mike Aka Spank. It's a inside Joke, cause I'm listing it for sale. Yes it was a Mini Guy Import from the land of OZ, now its for sale on BAT. The previous owner went with wide mini lights and installed plastic arches and chrome covers which I removed.

US
I remember that car. Was listed at $22.5k in 2002. I don't remember the out of place arches though.

yea. spank ... your buddy ML imported this..  does  LOOK like a proper vin plate ..BUT sure  NOT stamped on the lines.. look at all the scratches all  around the  rivets. ??? maybe vin stamping a  ZETLAND/leyland plant  done late in day on a FRIDAY?? YKG2S2 is proper prefix for MK1.s  and 9F-A-Y for engines without  four synchromesh gear box..  btw.. YKG2S4 is proper prefix for Mk2s. coopers from OZ..and real common to change sixth digit  in deluxe from L to 4 to pass off as Cooper s..might  ask Mad Matt Read..in brisbane.. about all the FAKE cooper s.s and clones there..  later b c ps. I would NOT buy a sack of $1000 bills from ML for mere $10...

Fake.
Revin.
Crush-it.

Everybody knows there were no Cooper S cars in Australia. All of those casting numbers are photoshopped. I can see the pixels.

Nice looking car.

This looks like a mostly unmolested car.

Wish I had the coin for this.
