Dan, You are welcome.
Jonathan, reminds me of what i say everyday to myself "if i knew my body would hurt this bad at this time of my life i would have taken much better care of it" but maybe not. Sure beats the alternative though LOL.

Reason for edit, photo added.
Damn, I was a pleasant looking chap. Time has not been as kind to me as others. (Treated my body more like a race car and not a Sunday going to church car) Hahahahaha
Okay, maybe not time, maybe more accurate are the HARD miles. Voided my warrantee by age 25.
Dan, best I can do at the moment. Looks like in relation to brake parts on the floor next to the cat the stand is also 8-10" away from the car. I can see both "ears" of that stand, clearly not under the car. But someone will continue to claim to know more than the person (persons) that were present. Bobby also had 3 AC Cobras . (Why I didn't take a picture of them I don't know) 2 big blocks and a 289. Said they were his retirement funds. Or a picture of my blonde/smoking hot girlfriend that went with me. Why I didn't take a picture of her I'll never know......

In my current car, I place the scissor jack between the spare tire and the back rim of the boot floor, then expand it just a little to put pressure against the tire. A short bungie cord goes over it to keep it from shaking loose.
malsal: I am in your debt for relieving the necessity of responding to the person I did NOT agree with. Well done.
What was it Willie_B said near the beginning of the thread about "not knowing jack"?

I'm assuming it's to be used on the subframe

Neal, thank you for the offer, if you can locate a handle, and or ratchet (same as in pic) I would be happy to purchase, just to have the correct stuff in the boot.
While shopping, about 2" collapsed height on a scissors jack should be good?

I'd forgotten about that meme...
Scissor jacks are very good for sealing an exhaust pipe onto a standard exhaust manifold, be it a peashooter or a magic-pipe.
Smear the joint with your sealant of choice (fire cement works well) offer it all up, then use the scissor jack to apply enough upwards pressure to start lifting the car, do up the clamp and steadies and then remove the jack - works a treat every time.

clearly there was no other jack suppporting the car, it is hanging on its one side, two wheels and one jack made that car stand.
WRONG AGAIN !!!!! Special boy.

You really are a troll, aren't you.
Me, I've got seven axle stands at the workshop (and access to six more) and three at home. Were I to show a photo of a car up in the air with an axle stand next to it, would you assume the car was balanced on just one ?
Remember that SXSMAN is/was a professional mechanic (something you will never be, as you struggle to be a talentless amateur spanner monkey) and probably had more than enough stands kicking about...
How about you exercise your new found prowess with the shaky poor-quality cameraphone and publish a photo of your car up in the air correctly supported on stands - just so you can show us how it should be done.
I will admit I'm somewhat of a tool snob. To imply I'd ever own such a POS jack stand is insulting.
Brakes weren't good. Wheel cylinders and master were leaking. I wanted rear brakes replaced , he (Bobby Wooldridge the previous owner) agreed to replace the wheel cylinders and master cylinder.
I did some checking and found it to be a fairly rare car.
1969 Authi (built to S specs)
Went back in forth, stuck a deal and then it became my car.
I've noticed in other posts the instigator likes to attack someone, to in his mind bring them down and to elevate himself.
What's sad is he doesn't realize how silly he looks.
As I mentioned on another thread he too seems smitten with alternative facts.
I'm sure this won't be the last of this.
I value almost all of your opinions, thanks. Almost........

Not sure I've ever seen a jack at shows where an estate or countryman had tools displayed.
To address the comments of our resident imbecile (Specialist).
Does he not know how silly he looks parading this photo ?
Maybe it's just me but I can clearly see the jack stand is sitting next to the car on the floor. (Both "ears" of the stand visible) Not even my car. I'm sure it's his lame attempt to "get my goat" but I laugh at it every time he posts it. How sad he is.
I'm guessing he's talking about the type of bus he rode to school (Special). The only plausible answer.
Here in the states we just refer to it as a "short" bus.
(Although Shortist doesn't have the same ring)

I can remember lifting the rear of the Countryman (one side at a time) so my little sister could put blocks under the subframe. Just put my back against the car, grabbed 2 handfulls of wheel arch and straightened my knees. Can't do that any more, though I've been tempted to try on the saloon. Fortunately the plastic arches stop me.
