A friend of mine had a ’64 Falcon race car. I always told him my Mini might give him a run for his money on the track, esp in the turns. He’d say “No way,” and would cite his superior HP and torque, etc. Well, he recently sold the Falcon to a guy from the UK. The new owner sent my friend an email the other day. He’s was running the Falcon at Goodwood. Here’s what he had to say…

Hi John,

My track day at Goodwood last week was fantastic! No problems with the car and had some excellent competition on track from many kinds of cars. Persistant Mini on my arse at each corner pushing me but held him off on the straits, just like they did in the 60's. The Falcon is nice and predictable in cornering with some fun sliding on those 60 series tyres. Hope this brings back some good memories for you, and thanks again John, for selling me for a good and honest car.

Kind regards, Mick
