I have owned several Mokes, U K, OZ (no Portuguese) and a choke

Now l have a brand new 2nd generation choke in Orange, 998cc running 13 inchers on Sunnraysia wheels, new rc40 exhaust,Rod change shifter and gaudy killer Roo bars, roll bar and hoops, locking companion boxes is a plus, full weather proof top with see thru side curtains all around

The engine/tranny is a used 998cc from the U K, no doubt a junk yard survivor but runs strong

Everything else is brand new

The paint is perfect and l am terrified l will put the first scratch on it

Yep. I'm pretty interested. So far I've learned that California will only register the electric Moke. The 49 states will allow gas. The company will ship anywhere. I want to do a factory pickup & drive it home. The guy seems to be in New York - but that might just be an address, and he says they are assembled in the US - but I have not figured out where yet. It's available in Auto ( !!!) or manual. Caitlyn Jenner wants to get a pink one. Dude - Whatever. I find automatic transmission more objectionable than being Chinese, personally! The Cherry motor I am still trying to get details of - think it's a 1L. Cherry is making Land Rovers now, too.... I get the whole Ol' Blighty Mokes are the only real Mokes thing... I really do. However I speak as an end user of an alternative reality machine. My "Austin Moke" turned out to be cobbled together bits of at least 4 different cars. I learned a lot. Through the 14 years I had it, the FUN times (numerous parades, shows, events, and teaching my young kids to drive stick shift ) outweighed the nightmares (If the gas cap is on the side, it's Portugese Ma'am. No, no- It's a '74!!) I met many wonderful, kind, helpful, committed, mechanically genius people during my quest to create a reliable daily driver. I did stupid things. I spent too much money. Of those years - it was on blocks or dis-assembled for at least 5. At the end, it was running so well, so reliably, that I commuted 70 miles to San Diego and 70 miles back, for 4 months. And then, I sold it. along with a couple of other cars, and bought a house. Right now I trying to find any new CH-Moke user/owner with any information about finish, quality or functionality of the final product. Not really wanting to be the guinea pig - but I've done stupider things than that.
