Yes the little harness is made with a male and female connector for the coil. If you have the correct coil it helps with correct connections. I have seen people make their own harness but it takes very small female connectors at the module. Steve (CTR)

9EM is the ignition module part number, the dizzy as a whole is more commonly known as a 65D4.
You do indeed only use the outer two connectors, but from memory I can't remember which is +ve and which is -ve.
The third wire is an earth, which isn't used on a Mini.
Our hosts sell the proper weatherproof connecting loom - //www.minimania.com/part/YMV10064/Austin-Mini--Loom-Electronic-65d-A-Distributor-Harness which would be an elegant and simple solution.

Anyone want to share how I should wire up a 9EM Lucas distributor? I do not have a wiring harness. Of the harnesses I have seen, they seem to only hook up to the outer two spades.
It's on a 1275.
