Yeah, I didn't want to go the base-clear route.  I use single stage paints on all of my British iron.  Indeed, they are getting harder to find.  With a single stage I can rub out any runs or sags.  Also if it gets scratched or chipped I can always touch it up.  This paint was a Lessonal by Sikkens at about $160/gallon plus I needed a catalyst.  Very good deal.

You may be forced to the clear coat type, but it doesn't look right on a Mini.

Dog, I've always liked surf blue. It's not the top of my list, but close. And anything but white over red, please.

I like it.

Wondering about a single stage paint. Having always sprayed base coat clear coat, I'm wondering if it might be beneficial out here in Arizona to be able to buff out from time to time.

Not sure which direction I'll go yet.

Fellow Minioids,  I just painted my 1967 Aussie Morris Mini Cooper S.  Surf blue, single stage Sikkens urethane.  Some dust in the paint but that will rub out.  Now for the assembly.
