I don't want this post to give the illusion that I am pimping for B C or even shilling-
I can personally attest that these new Moke shells are the real deal, good quality stamping, welds look very professional and they now come with ribbed floors
I think the big feature is the steel brace running down the sides that give it the ridgety they need between the sub frames
Take a look at mine @ MM East and check it out

As a shell, it should just be parts to restore an old car. We bring in new heritage shells for the MK4 without any problems! BUT California can change it's mind and level of enforcement on a whim, so who knows? Maybe Bill? I would think it considerably cheaper to bring containers to the west coast rather than through Panama....

I wouldn't try importing them into California directly, but if Bill gets them to NC, I can bring them across the country. Bet I could haul multiple shells at one time. Just a thought...

As one of those inquiring, getting a shell to the West coast would be great! Yes I want to build a Mighty Moke from scratch, and I've talked with several people who may be interested in a parallel custom build. As a matter of fact, that is one of the things I'll be doing as CooperRoadMini, so anyone interested in getting a shell and having me build just about any Moke you can imagine?
I'll check with a couple of friends.... I know one in the Portland area that has talked of getting a shell if we could do a container.... Now I'm convinced it's best to let guys like Bill do the international heavy lifting. Customs seems to have a new lease on life, and out to prove something, perhaps to make up for blatant incompetence over the decades! I don't want to be the poster boy for how to fall into a customs black hole.....
I'll talk more about what i mean by Mighty Moke soon! I've been driving the 67 I built, now with a brand new aluminum head that I custom built and carved out with 1.46" intake and 1.22" exhaust. It is almost identical to the one in my 66 S, but with even bigger valves. I lowered the compression by about 50 PSI by modifying the combustion chambers, and using a custom made head gasket from Cometic. Took the compression from around 220 down to 170... much more street friendly! Tying to upload a short video... I'll post it soon!
