Jeeps are plentiful for donor vehicles. Lots to choose from so should be able to find a wheelbase that would work.

I understand that this will not be an easy build, but I think I have access to more resources than you expect. My dad drag races and because of this I have access to people who know what they are doing with cars, they literally build them from nothing. I know body builders, engine builders, tuners, and painters. I definitely have people who are experienced enough for a project like this; their work would not be free, but it also wouldn't be too expensive... Are there any other off-road vehicles that I could body swap besides the samurai? How hard would it be to buy a samurai without a motor and swap in a small high torque engine?

I am sure Minimans could not believe you are serious, or have thought the idea through. To start with all you want won't fit into a classic Mini shell. Under it, maybe, but not in. You need to realize just how small these Minis are - one would just about fit inside your BMW Cooper. Second, it would take considerable knowledge and ability to engineer such a vehicle. I'm sure the one in your pictures took a lot of planning, experimenting and rebuilding and reconfiguring/rebuilding before it became half-way reliable. It would also be pretty useless as a daily driver.
To get an idea of how much work would go into making a driveable all-wheel drive Mini, have a look at the Project Binky videos. These are guys who know what they are doing and have the expertise and especially the equipment and place to do the project

Project Binky

Classic Minis are becoming rarer - they have not been made in over 17 years. Even their VIN plates have a value. To cut one up for an experiment/plaything would be a travesty. We have seen too many wasted as failed projects, even just on Honda Vtec front wheel drive conversions.

Usually this is done by way of a body swap. Start with a base 4wd vehicle that has a wheelbase close to the mini like a Suzuki Samurai. Then remove its body and graft the mini on.

Please don't post on this topic again. This topic is not for people to hate on the idea, that is what the poll is for.

You seem pretty experienced with minis. Do you have any advice for this project?

So to start this off since I am new to this forum I will introduce myself. My name is Reid Johnson, I am 18 years old, and I have a 2015 Mini Cooper Clubman S. I have had a great time with my car, but I am starting to want a little more. I played around with the idea of building a custom two-door sports car mini, but I am on my way to college and the last thing i need is an even faster car; its also pretty expensive. So after looking around on google images I found a mini that I really like, but I cannot find any documentation on the build. This is where I need the help of the amazing people on this forum! I have a picture of this car, I know it's not much but if everyone helps out we could figure out all the necessary information to build one similar.

Off-Road Classic MiniOff-Road Classic Mini #2

--------- Information On My Preferences ----------
I want to use a classic mini similar to the one in the picture
I want the car to be either RWD or AWD / FWD IS NOT AN OPTION
I want to do an engine swap / my current idea is a Honda F22c or K20
I want large mud tires that fit right / wheel well adjustment and aftermarket fenders might be required
I want a roof rack / I can make this myself
I would like for interior accessories such as A/C to work / it is common in track cars for A/C to be removed if there is an engine swap
I want to remove the back seats
I want to replace the current axles with something bigger and stronger
I want to install suspension that is good enough without being to expensive
I plan on having to make a custom exhaust
If I need to I can buy an aftermarket ECU / TUNING WOULD BE FREE
I want a manual gearbox
--------- Future Upgrades (Not Included In Original Price) ---------
I plan on installing an aftermarket radio with speakers
I would like to replace the seats with padded Recaro seats
I would like to put RGB LED rings in my headlights
I want fog lights on the front bumper
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a budget of 20k, I plan to sell my current mini to pay for this build. Please give me any information you have, I am new to working with cars like these. Any information on what parts work/dont work or what can/cannot be done is very helpful. If you have any questions on what the car should look like, you can contact me or refer to the pictures.

Thanks, Reid
