I just spoke with Sir Alex and he says if you bring the car to him personally at the Longbridge plant, they will fix it free under warranty. He will offer you a free warm beer from the Lucas fridge while you wait. :)

I can't find it now, but there was a joke on SNL, back in the late '70s or early '80s, they reported on Weekend Update about a recall by Ford Motor Company regarding premature upholstery wear on their '08~'27 Model T vehicles.
