I reread the article... It does say its a "dealer installed kit"... so you are probably correct..

Thank you for your reply.

Are you sure about Mini not selling a JCW in 2003??
I saw this article about the 2003 JCW Mini..
//www.motortrend.com/cars/mini/cooper/2003/112_0308_2003_john_cooper_works_mini_cooper_s/

I am taking it to the local Mini mechanic tomorrow to get it checked out. I will have them inspect the pulley like you suggested.
I will let you know what they say..

It has 109k on it and I'm not sure the maintenance history so I want to do a tune-up.

Plugs
Wires
Coilpack (maybe)
Oil change
Air filter
Coolant flush

The thing is I'm not sure how the JCW package will effect my parts choices.. Especially when it comes to the plugs and coil pack.
Also I have never seen an air filter like the one on this car and I was wondering if it is a cleanable or replaceable one? It is a solid round aluminum can that says PROMINI on it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am completely new to the Mini world.
A couple of things....  MINI did not offer a JCW model in 2003, although they did offer a JCW engine upgrade kit a few years later.

Depending on when and what upgrades were done, the 'tune-up' parts may vary (spark plugs and serpentine belt)...

JCW engine kit included:

modified cylinder head
different supercharger with smaller supercharger pulley and coated impellers
colder spark plugs
larger fuel injectors

Check the supercharger pulley on your MINI, if it has bolts on the face of the pulley, it is an aftermarket unit.  If no bolts, you can measure the diameter of the pulley at the peaks of the ribs.  Stock is about 65mm, JCW is about 58mm.

ProMINI was an aftermarket supplier of MINI performance parts.  They are no longer in business so you may need to replace the intake if the filter needs replacement or can't be cleaned.
