I had a 61 Countryman project - 3 owners before me after it was last licenced - no power unit $1,400 with new steel panels, used front & new rear subframe, new fuel tank, all flat glass & misc. bits & pieces.

But I had a never run 1293cc engine to pull apart, new crank & rods, new cam, duplex gears & chains,...new freshly rebuilt rear trailIng arms.  So I bought new upper arms to go with my new HD adj. lower arms & new HD adj tie-rods.  Bought new  AP calipers, uprights, drive flanges, to go with my good used drive shafts & new inner pot joints.  Bought new hi-lo set to go with the new rubber cones I had.  Had new Steering rack on the shelf too.

Tranny will be a never built A+ box with new shifter forks & I have new rod change.  Needed clutch & lightened flywheel.

Rebuilt the 1293 head, new guides, new valves/springs, 1.3:1 roller tip rockers.  Had rebuilt HIF44 & Metro intake, bought Maniflow Cooper Freeflow headers & twin box exhaust...

Got a prototype new Ash Wood Kit at MMW in Penticton 2010...so a little less than current market prices for new.

$10,000 on steel, body & paint with interior to come - will use TR7 seats, they sit lower & recline (used $50/pair) & have headliner frame & headliner.

Not an inexpensive business this Mini restoration.  Hope to have it rolling for Vancouver All British & MMW 2018.

If I were closer I'd be all over it like a bad suit.

Wonder what a container from there to here would cost...

Selling for parts is also a rabbit hole, lots of time, listing, shipping, and a pile of stuff that never does sell, sorry. No mention of a proper title, and id tags, that can make a big difference.

Hi-

Thank you.  I was hoping to get the most I could.  Sad that it is worth more in parts.

My thoughts on projects from a selling and buying point of view over the years is when they are in pieces (much like yours) and taken apart by someone else they usually bring (depending on hw desirable) about half or less of what they would be if they were all still together.
The full restoration of any car done correctly is a daunting task and i would guess 9 out of 10 change hands three or four times before they are completed parted out or scrapped.
I think your Estate will probably sell in the $2k range if you are prepared to accept that and that is what it basically comes down to what buyer and seller are willing to give and accept and also location plays a big part in the sale.
You may try throwing a possible trade in the mix or offer transportation if you have it available, i have moved projects and cars on with that scenario.
Good luck with the sale.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

Hi-

So I have a 1963 Countryman Project.  The upper part is in fairly good shape some surface rust but no filler.  Will need inner and outer sills, right side floor where the battery sits, rear valance and front sheet metal welded on.  I have all the panels.  It has most of the wood and a bunch of extra wood.  It has all window trim and lots of suspension parts.  Comes with a 998 long block with transmission and an 850 if you want it.  Interior will need work but it is a good starting point.  It is a nice solid project with little to hide.  It is currently on a rotisserie that works very well.

Thank You
