OK,  I did one Aussie door the other day.  It wasn't bad.  Basically, you have a bar of steel that goes from the lever in the front of the door to the rear which has two pieces where one fits a square hole over the square peg portion of the external handle.  Now, there is a corresponding mirror image piece that fits the slam latch.  There is a small plug that fits into the slam latch and through the square hole.  I can try to get some pics, but there is no room in there.  I had the door lying on it's external side which make it easier than on the car.  The doors are so damn heavy that working on them on the car puts extra stress on the hinges, in my opinion.

I am at the same point in restoration of my 1967 Aussie Cooper S.  The doors are a real bitch I tell you.  I find it easier to lay them down to work on rather than on the car.  They are so damn heavy anyway they put extra stress on the hinges.  Any help is appreciated.

When i got my mini, my Mk1 aussie doors were empty and all the door bits came in a box.
does anyone have a link to any reference material that may help guide me with putting things back together again?
