Join the Shasta mini group, they are the MOST active classic mini group in that area, i think they gather together evry sunday of everyweek, one member there even owns a red firetruck mini and a tow truck mini, all of them were retirees thats why they have all of the time in this world to work in their minis and to several variants to their minis, im sure they can help you.  

Your best bet would be getting in touch with us in the Mini Owners of America San Francisco club. We get together at least once a month for some show or run and a club meeting and if you join the club, you get a T-Shirt and a couple of window stickers. Next month we'll be doing the All British Motor Show at the Blackhawk Auto Museum. In fact, we'll be at the Blackhawk Cars & Coffee this Sunday if you'd like to come out and meet a few of us.

There are all kinds of people and Minis in the club; anything from early cars to later and a few customs. Someone will be able to answer any questions you may have!

I'm building a '61 mini from boxes and would appreciate connecting with someone
in the mid peninsula / coast,  SF bay area with an early model. Everything is pretty
good but I'd like to get a look under the hood for a few misc. little details on things.
