I have an airtex electric low pressure in my Corvair, about 8 years now without problems.
On my SPI pickup, I used a Toyota in-tank pump with a pressure regulator to drop it down to 15 psi
For carbs with manual pumps I've been ordering generic ones from Mini suppliers. They only need 3-5 psi.

The Mr Gasket ones are quiet. On Joe Schott's Mini we used the rear fog light wires to power it. Bonus is you have a cut off switch for theft and if you are working on the car with the ignition on no need to have the pump running.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

If it's an A+, I like the stock mechanical pump, the electric facet pump sounded like an angry metal pecker in the trunk. Plus no wires

As Bill said, aim for 3 PSI.  If all the pumps the local store has are higher pressure than that, buy a Holley low-pressure regulator to reduce the pressure at the carbs.  Do not buy the round, chrome, pancake regulator the store is likely to have.  They are garbage.  Holley is better.

The parts store may have a Facet brand pump for low pressure or the Mr. Gasket equivalent.  They may also have the Airtex pump.  Of the three, Mr. Gasket is the only one with a mediocre reputation.  However, I needed a replacement pump and have the Mr. Gasket installed.  No problems after about 5 years.

What should be the correct electric fuel pump pressure ratings for a conventional 1275 cc engined Mini? I'm not looking for originality for this car, so don't feel the need to go with an expensive SU pump. Randy
