I get it. BP = Buyer’s premium. Thanks for the clarification.

Mossgreens's website says BP:$91,650. I took that as "British Pound." No?

BP most like means "buyers premium", so figure shown might be hammer price, plus fees & tax.

Mossgreen have a premium of 24% to be added to the buy price, plus GST (goods and service tax) of 10% which would certainly bump the hammer price up some.

I must be one of a few. There's no way in hell I'd pay that if Jesus H Christ was the original owner. No car is worth that kind of money to an average person, maybe Trump and his kind can throw around that kind of cash, but that's about it. I also laugh at the muscle car guys dropping $50, 60, 70k+ on 50 year old cars. Really? I'm not one who can see a way to justify that.

That's my 2 cents, now I'll wait for the flack.....

Check out the "Bultaco" decal in the back window. I HAD a Bultaco back in the late '60s. Takes me back... [link]

I took the sale currency to be £91,650.00. That's $121,470.00 US. Just wow!

I've restored my ex-Liverpool police car, a 1971, the last year for them, to police specs (the only one that I am aware of {there may be one '70 that has been finished now}. I have a lot of the police extras for it, but did not attach anything permanently like at least one of them is in England. Especially at American carshows, and even to many people at Mini Meets, I get the feeling that people think that I made up the police car. So, I think that in this country, it doesn't add any value except to a few purists. I probably will spend the couple of grand extra to ship the car back across the pond where 'S's go for a lot more money, especially mark 3s, and ex-police cars when I am ready to sell it. Ex police cars are rarer than ex works cars, but don't go for anywhere near what works Minis go for.

OZ engine numbers not on tags. Tags removed and numbers stamped into the block.

interesting that both engines have the tags removed, as in rebuilds, but numbers then stamped into the block.  Why not just get a new tag?   Great money for one. I guess I'll be a wealthy man one day if the market doesn't crash on these cars.

Chuck, I wonder about the Cop car Cooper S market. Being a ex cop car, does that help or hurt value? It kind of limits color choice but ours had a heritage cert. with color marked N/A or not recorded I forget now. I always though a color change would be possible as a result. Sold now so I may never know. Steve (CTR)

Did this happen because of a bidding war, or am I missing something that makes this car super special?
