Saw this on the ICON site. Not a Mini, but it's a modified Pedro's rack. Pretty nice.

Twin but moveable racks here carrying a LWB smooth roof to shipping broker to be crated & sent to Bavaria, Germany.  Couldn't do this with my Jeep.

Will be looking to use the twin racks to build an appropriate external fuel carrier for the ALCAN 5000 next summer.

When you are a photographer you need all the room you can muster. At this years CanAm, I was by myself, not camping and still had the car full.
This picture is from a desert camping trip...

IMHO, if you have a van or estate model you shouldn't need a roof rack, lots of storage in the cargo area

Here's the one Minimania used to sell.

Yes, I fitted it 90 degrees from how they showed it in their advertising photo.  I did that for 2 reasons:   it made a hell of a lot of wind noise in the other position, and I couldn't attach my nifty Monte sign that way

I built this one for my brother a few years ago. Simple elec. conduit for the frame.
Sits high to clear the roof vent.

i was thinking of adding a roof rack to my 67 aussie van.
