Big-Bore Power Units from MINI MANIA for the Classic Mini Cooper & Mini Cooper S

The "Ultimate Street Performance Engine" from Mini Mania is the result of 30+ years of building and racing our own Mini Coopers. Because drivability and reliability are of utmost importance in any Mini Cooper, only components from well-established suppliers are utilized to build our Mini motors. While the standard configuration is described here, power-units can be customized to meet your particular needs for your Mini Cooper. Just ask your friendly Mini Mania Sales Technician for a custom power-unit quote.

Engine blocks are cleaned, magnaflux'd, bored and painted. The Mini Cooper cylinder head is a genuine Longman GT6 or one of our special Aluminum heads, which is not only cast ported, but has hardened valve seats for use with unleaded fuels. The Mini motor uses squeeze cast Powermax 73.5mm pistons, which are specifically designed for this application. Elgin supplies the custom ground camshaft, which is driven by a new timing chain and gears.

The cylinder head is set up for use with unleaded fuels. We use Squeeze cast 73.5mm pistons, which are specifically designed for this application. Elgin Cams supplies the custom ground camshaft. (Distributor not included but we recommend the "Aldon" Yellow or a 123)

We sell these engines ready to bolt in and run, which means, of course, that they are already mated with transmissions. These late model rod change transmissions are also fully rebuilt with a 3.44 final drive (upgrade kits to install these in earlier model cars are available at a small added cost) or a remote shift box can be used (extra cost). Flywheel and clutch assemblies are all in place.

Carburation is not supplied but the single 1 3/4" HIF type carb (BDK needle) with K&N air filter on an aluminum manifold is recommended as is Long Center Branch (LCB) exhaust manifold. You also provide you our own electrical bits (starter, generator or alternator), cooling system, tailpipe, and Mini!
