With the desireable 12G940 castings becoming hard to find, this may be the best option for serious performance from your 1275 or bigger A-series engine. This new casting does away with the primitive shared intake-port design of the standard head, and results in a cross-flow cylinder head with much better performance potential like most modern performance engines. It puts the intake out in front, getting it away from the heat of the exhaust. It allows mounting a pair of 40 or 45 DCOE Weber side-draft carbs right onto the head, AND it can all fit under the standard bonnet!
The head is supplied with the standard 1.3" intake, and 1.15" exhaust valves, and uses the 10mm plug from Autolite 4303  spark plugs.

For ultimate performance, this head is cast for large bore engines with the valve-spacing increased to allow much bigger valves without the expense and complexity of using off-set guides. It will accept 1.44" intake valves and 1.21" exhaust valves buy simply cutting back the seats and opening up the valve throats. It can have up to 1.48" intake valves, if the exhaust is kept at 1.15", matching the full SCCA race-spec heads. There is ample material to surface the deck for high compression engines to go with the enormous valves.

In addition, this head is the best choice for tuners adapting modern fuel injection systems as the individual intake runners allow precise fuel metering and control not possible with the stock shared ports. Stay tuned for a stand-alone port fuel injection system that mounts compact throttle bodies instead of huge carbs! That's how the Fuel Injection Mini SHOULD have been! Also fits Sprite and MG Midget .

Question:
Hllo I have an all original minicooper1300, and I would like to buy a 7 porter cylinder head from you....my question is: to put this cylinder head, what other modification should I make to the engine? and roughly how many more horses can be obtained? Thanks for the reply . Chris
Answer:
Chris,
The only other major parts needed are a pair of Weber carbs.  To really take advantage of the new head you should consider a performance camshaft and probably raising compression.  Although these are not "Needed" the performance upgrade would not be worth it.  In addition it would be extremely beneficial to adjust the Weber jetting while on a Dyno.

Question:
I have a 1380 engine with a max speed from 8200rpm. For this engine, I am looking for a 7 port head. Are your head applicable for this speed?
Answer:
Yes, our 7-port head will flow enough air to support an 8,200 RPM motor.
The head is shipped with a chamber volume of 24cc to allow our customers to simply mill the face of the head to their specific needs. If you would rather have us to that for you simply tell us what volume you want.

Question:
Can you supply this head with the 1.44 valves installed, and if so what would the additional charge be please? Thanks
Answer:
Hi,
We can do that for you and it wouldn't be much more. You will need to phone the order in on this one.  We would also need to check availability on the head.
It could take 3-6 weeks or more to do one.
Talk to you soon
