BUSH TIE ROD MORRIS

The lower front suspension includes a set of rods that extend from the outer lower joint to the chassis. This tie rod is designed to help stabilize the suspension. The rod is simply bolted to the lower joint but is mounted with rubber bushes at the chassis end. The design intention of these tie rods is to stabilize the suspension. In the ideal world the rubber joint would be replaced with metal heim joints for the ultimate stability. The factory compromise for for ride comfort and longevity is the use of these rubber bushes. As the rubber get old it decreases it's effectivness. Besides visual inspection of the bushes one of the other ways to judge how stable the car feels under hard braking. If the car wants to dart a little it could be these rubber bushes. (be sure to also check your brakes when this condition happens). For a polyurethane upgrade see SUS118WB. These 'poly' bushes are step better than rubber but not as severe as metal heim joints.
