FUEL PUMP MECHANICAL HIF38 MINI 1992-1994

For 1275cc engines after 1990 on with HIF38 carbs. has a 5/16" inlet which makes it unique to this model The later 1990 on models of the Mini with 1275cc engines and HIF44 carbs use a AZX1817 mechanical fuel pump. Driven off the camshaft at the rear of the engine these pumps are generally reliable but when a diaphragm goes bad it can be very serious as often raw petrol/gas is pumped into the engine. This dilutes the oil and causes severe wear. For pre 1990 cars use AZX1818
