Paul Harvey wrote "If there is one thing I feel my mini needs which I have not yet found available anywhere, it would have to be a kit for electric opening quarter lights.."   aul, scout around for a Dodge Caravan ( round about 1990). The upscale (LE) model had electric rear quarter windows that might be applicable. Our 1989 had them. Not sure of the inner workings, but the rear roof pillar was about the same size as a Mini and contained part of the mechanism. The window extended about the same as a Mini as well. The only exposed part is a small crank and link. When closed, the link covered the crank. Inside the pillar was probably a gear like a Mini wiper box driven via a cable by a motor located in the wall below the window. The windows were controlled by rocker switches in the overhead console. The cheaper van models had a round knob in the ceiling which accomplished the same thing manually somehow - probably a long cable in the ceiling. "Hang on a minute lads....I've got a great idea."

Bin the cast iron engine block and make an aluminum one. Ten thousand moving parts that work less and less everyday.

I've suggested this before, I think MiniMania needs to offer group buys on popular items. Also what is the status of heritage shells?
