How about this timing...I ordered two new rubber mounts for the rod shifter two weeks ago...when up on the hoist today ONE was seen to be broken...new ones were in the mail box this afternoon! All will be loaded for Sunday a.m. take-off. Extra rad is plumbed in as is oil cooler...we'll be ready for trip down central valley.

Whew! 109 today in Santa Clarita! I'm hoping it cools down for all of you diving down central Calyfoornnya for MMW. Now would be a good time to consider the coastal route if you haven't already.

Hey guys. Mail in registration for MMW will be ending this weekend, Sunday June 22. After that point, you can register via Paypal (and bring your form to the event) or you can just register at the event. This is shaping up to be an amazing event! Even if you can't make the whole weekend, you should at least bring your car by for the car show! You won't want to miss out!

The hotel Sports Bar, Martini Bar and Poolside Bar will be open late to all MMW Attendees! In addition, we have arranged for the pool to be open late for those of you that wish to take a midnight swim!

For those that asked we have arranged an area for those that are bringing trailers. There WILL NOT BE any additional parking fees for the trailers and the towing vehicles. In addition we will have some complimentary parking passes for those of you that are bringing another vehicle to run around in besides your mini.

We will be able to put cars on the sidewalk entering the Hotel
Nice large area to congregate, shoot the breeze, and visit. Sports bars, eateries, sushi bar, etc.
Starbucks for all of us coffee drinkers
The banquet room is huge, we will be able to bring in a few cars into the dining area as well as at the entrance.

We met at the hotel last night to go over some final details. They have extended our discounted room rate and opened up more rooms. The Saturday venue at the hotel looks like it will be a good time. We are going to get to park cars in the banquet hall on Saturday night. Sponsors cars will get some prime spots at the hotel entrance. They are going all out to give us the entire 300+ parking spaces out in front. It will look like Mini/MINI city. The hotel looks like it will be a nice hub of activity for the event for those that are staying there. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

It's official.... We have secured the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station as the autocross and funkhana venue! For you guys who have never been to or seen this place, it is the premier autocross venue in Southern California. We have 1.7 miles of runway to ourselves! The autocross for MMW 08 is going to rock!

How is the parking for attendees not staying at the hotel going to work? I was specifically thinking in terms of the banquet, where I may drive my regular car back to the hotel in the evening, rather than the Mini. Unless, that is, it looks like it's going to cost for parking when bringing and parking the Mini would still be no charge.
