In the early '70's they ran in IMSA Baby Grand series. Sponsored by Levi's. If I remember one was driven by Amos Johnson, complete with handlebar mustache!! They were quick and won there share.. Good racing in that period. Car + Driver Mazda, Alfas, 02 bimmers.

Thanks as always, Cliff. Nice to see such an array of vehicles we'd never get up here in the northern boonies.

AMC cars were under-rated IMHO. They mostly had clean, conservative styling but were ususally more solidly built than Ford and GM products of the time. They also came up wiih innovative designs such as the Gremlin (probably the first north american hatchback), the Pacer which took the low belt-line, greenhouse concept to the extreme and was stylish for the time. Look how many current cars have a low shortnose - they did it with an in-line six!

The sucessor to the Gremin was the Spirit which could be had with a 304 V8, auto or manual. I had a 1979 with the 304 auto and the 'sport' handling package. We had it for 13 years and the only thing it needed was front fenders and a respray, one alternator, a couple of rads, exhaust system, brakes, ball joints and tires. When we sold it, it had never had a drop of transmission fluid or power steering fluid, never had any engine or transmission work done and even was still wearing its factory original shock absorbers which were still completely serviceable. It was a daily driver and never had a garage or carport to live in. A good solid car that would handle well. (I made sure of that!)

You can't trick George's professional photographer eyes.  He'll find the gremlin in any picture.  As for AMC Gremlins, the did leave their "mark", however small....

How many Gremlins do you see on the road these days?!

That hauler was cool. I like a lot of the old restored commercial vehicles.

Agree.....that has to be one of the coolest things I've seen at C&C.  You know you've got some $$ when you can afford to restore an old hauler to the level of your really nice classic car.

The TA Mustang and the hauler are superb.  The hot rod still life is classy (a painting maybe?) and how the heck the you get the Mercedes overhead shot?  Bringing a ladder along with you these days or did you climb a tree?

As always ... a treat to view.  Thanks.
