Will Ahart's Restoration of Mom's Mini

At Mini Mania, we like to showcase Mini enthusiast around the world and thus this article about Will Ahart.

Will is in the process of a restoration/rebuild of his 1965 Austin Mini Cooper S 1275 with only 16,305 original miles. As he writes, “The Mini was originally purchased new for my mother to drive. But instead, she raced the car and won a lot of races (drag, autocross, hill climbs and ice racing.) As both my mother and father grew up in a racing family, it was only natural that she would race.

“I have the original number matching 1275 S motor per the British Heritage Certificate show that Cole Gentry from Classic Mini DIY is rebuilding, I also have the 1275 race engine that my father built that Cole will eventually be rebuilding.

The restoration/rebuild of the Mini will be on my Youtube channel, Ahart's Classic Mini Garage   that I just started and Cole Gentry's Youtube channel Classic Mini DIY. I have attached some picture of the Mini, trophies, and my mother receiving a trophy with my father.”

Restoring Mom's Classic Racing Mini

This 1965 Austin Mini Cooper S 1275 was originally purchased new for my mother to drive. But as both my mother and father grew up in a racing family, it was only natural that she would race. And as the trophies support, she won a lot of races (drag, autocross, hill climbs and ice racing.)

I hope you’ll follow me as I rebuild this mini to its original glory.
