What's a Sprint Booster & How Does it Work?
The Sprint Booster is a simple, Plug-N-Play unit that changes the way your pedal interacts with your car’s acceleration mode – specifically your ECM (Electronic Control Module). The Sprint Booster overrides the signal to your electronic throttle and replaces it with crisp, on-tap acceleration whenever you need it.
So, when you press on your accelerator – you’ll immediately know it, rather than wait for the normal “pedal lag". No more delayed response. No more sluggish acceleration...instead, you get the immediate feeling of POWER! (Check out How Sprint Booster Works in Your MINI Cooper)
How Much Faster?
Basically, with a Sprint Booster V3, the time it takes your gas pedal to go from idle-to-full-throttle is 25% faster than your car’s factory configuration. It won't add horsepower but it will certainly feel more powerful!
Does 25% Really Make That Much Of A Difference?
You better believe it does! From the moment you plug in your Sprint Booster, you will feel as though your car has more muscle than it really does! This is especially evident in the low to mid rpm range where most cars spend their time on the street.
Features
Each mode (SPORT – RACE) comes with 9 steps - programmed so the driver can choose the one that suits his driving style. Each program adjusts the pedal response by 3-6% so it can be fully adjustable and customized. The switch is small and easily hidden and removable after installation.
3 Acceleration Modes
Off mode - Sprint Booster is deactivated and the response of the car has the factory settings. (The LED of the Selector switch is OFF)
Sport mode - Sprint Booster provides improved response up to 30%. (The LED of the selector switch in Sport mode is Green)
Race mode - Sprint Booster provides improved response up to 60%. (The LED of the selector switch in Race mode is Red)
Pedal Lock Mode
Provides extra protection against unauthorized vehicle use. The driver can deactivate the acceleration ability of the vehicle when it's stationary through a 3 digit PIN. When Pedal lock is enabled the acceleration gets disabled and the vehicle stays on idle until you enter the correct PIN.
Valet Mode
Limits the acceleration of the vehicle by 55 % - 65% - 75% (comes in 3 selectable levels). It is activated/deactivated through a 3 digit PIN. By limiting the acceleration there will be a significant reduction in the vehicle's performance (power and torque).
Will it Fit My MINI?

Can I Install it Myself?
Yes! Being a plug-n-play performance upgrade, the Sprint Booster can be installed easily in about 5 minutes and requires no mechanical tools or know-how. Simply locate and remove the harness connector on the accelerator pedal, plug the Sprint Booster between the pedal and the harness connector and you're essentially done. What's a Sprint Booster?
Sprint Booster is an electronic device that modifies the throttle curve for increased performance that makes your car 'feel' more powerful. The stock system is designed for 'smoothness' and fuel economy while the Sprint Booster makes your MINI more 'fun' to drive.
Why is the Sprint Booster so effective?
Modern cars use a 'drive-by-wire' technology where the throttle is operated electronically instead of using a cable as in the past. This modern technology introduces an undesirable side effect of a slow response and less than impressive off-the-line performance. Sprint Booster overcomes this.
How much horsepower gain can I expect from the Sprint Booster?
Sprint Booster does not increase horsepower. Sprint Booster changes the throttle response in the low to mid rpm range where your car spends a majority of their time. As a result, your car will 'feel' peppier and more powerful.
If it doesn't add horsepower, what good is it?
Horsepower gains usually improves performance in the mid to high rpm range, sometimes with a loss of horsepower and torque in the lower rpm range. The Sprint Booster is designed to improve driveability in the low to mid rpm range where most MINIs are driven on a daily basis. Sprint Booster puts the 'fun' back into daily driving.
Is the Sprint Booster a software product?
Sprint Booster is a hardware based product. It installs easily between the accelerator pedal module and the harness. The Sprint Booster can be installed in about 10 minutes with most cars and can be restored to stock just as easily.
Why is the Sprint Booster so expensive?
Actually, the Sprint Booster is very cost effective. Some customers reported their Sprint Booster 'feels' just as powerful as a software upgrade which costs $100's of dollars more.
Why should I buy ECU upgrades if the Sprint Booster is so good?
The Sprint Booster is designed to greatly improve the everyday driving experience. ECU upgrades have a clear advantage when driving on the track where you can continuously drive your car in the mid to high rpm range - this is where the horsepower increase really makes a difference. Sprint Booster is for the daily commute or trip to the store, ECU upgrades are better for track or competitive driving. Of course, there is nothing stopping you from adding this to your ECU upgraded car for an all-around performance gain!

"I've got a standard R56 Cooper S (no mods) I fitted the Sprint booster in about 5 minutes using the instructions from the Mini Mania site. Once fitted I immediately noticed a difference by just blipping the throttle - with the sport button OFF - when i pulled out onto the road the difference in performance was / is massive, the car feels as if it has loads more power even though apparently it hasn't."
