Reconstructed 1968 Morris Mini Cooper.
This car started life as a 1968 Morris Mini Cooper sold into France. In 1970 it was shipped to the US by an employee of the French embassy in Washington. It was taken off the road in 1972, reason unknown. For the next 43 years while the car was in dry storage it was stripped of everything down to the shell and the title lost. In 2015 the previous owner fitted an engine from another 1968 Morris Cooper and sold it to me using the Vin Number from a 1966 Standard Morris Mini. The car has now been reconstructed
New:
Piston rings.
Big end bearings.
Cooper S front disk brakes.
Rear brakes and drums.
Drive shafts.
Steering rack.
Bumpers and grill.
Cooper S wheels and tires.
Headlining, carpets and sound proofing
Dash board liner
Wiper motor.
Gas tank and pump.
The body has new paint inside and out.
The only body panel requiring replacement was the rear passenger floor on the driver side. All the other panels are original with no rust. The car retains its original hydrolastic suspension and the original subframes with no rust.
To recap the car is all Cooper with all the Cooper attributes, Cooper engine with correct engine and casting numbers, chrome trim on doors, vinyl on A pillars and dash rail, boot board, disk brakes and 105mph speedometer.
The car looks and drives great.
