Do you have any off the engine lift bracket available! If you do I’m interested. Thank you.

Spitz, I'm using r and l as looking at the engine, but it's the clutch side of exhaust manifold. L as you view it. R as you sit in the car. And I too, lift the engine with the manifolds in place.

I'm sure you mean the right (rear) exhaust manifold stud...lol...otherwise it would be a tad right heavy.
I use that technique also.....works just right

If manifold is still in place....clutch slave bolt hole works well

very fancy indeed. All you need is a bit of chain and a couple of bolts with large washers to keep the chain from slipping off the bolt. One side of the chain on the left rear exhaust manifold stud. Use exising washer and nut. The chain slings over the top of the engine and slide a bolt through the altenator bracket into the chain and put washers in place to keep the chain from sliding off the bolt.

I use a come along on a wooden frame. Just slip the chain into the hook and center it. Correct angle, and all the parts I need are usually in my garage. Nice to have fancy tools if you need them. Pulling a mini engine? No need for any fancy stuff unless you have too much money.

Hi Nick!

If you're as good at fab work as you are with your bodywork and paint jobs, I'm certain that your engine lift A1! BTY: Thanks for your cosponsorship of MMW '11 and for the excellent trophies you graciously supplied. Since I'm planning on winning one (or more) of your trophies at MMW '12, perhaps I can suggest some trophy ideas for next year.  ;-)

We have used lifting eyes made from sparkplugs for years.  I can't tell you how many Mini powerunits we have removed & replaced with these, but its a lot. Thay are cheap and easy to use.  Holds the engine at just the right angle.

And here they are in use

We were selling these at Spring Thing a while back.  Might have a set or two left if anyone is interested.

How did these lifts turn out? Do you have any for sale still?

I am doing an engine swap, most likely in April. Block is getting worked on now, should have it back by end of Jan.

Cheers

I'm interested too. Email/Pm me when you have some ready. No hurry here tho; Won't be pulling the engine until winter. Serve your other demand first. Thx.

Nick, what's your timeframe estimate to have this ready?  I could be pulling my engine as soon as this weekend or next.  I can use alternate methods, but I might be persuaded to wait until yours are done if it's going to be soon.

Thanks
