If it's a Cooper S gearbox, you're darn tootin' it's worth some serious $$$ Casting number 22G333 is the most sought after and recognized. 22G190 is also worth some good coin as it was under 1071 and 970 S engines. S Cases are fetching upwards of £1000
Here's a bare case, no gears:
//www.ebay.ie/itm/RARE-CLASSIC-MINI-MK1-COOPER-S-GEARBOX-CASING-22G333-RARE-/121266987931
If it's a Cooper case, still worth $
If it's just a run of the mill 3 synchro (like from an MG1100), it's not really too desireable.
here's a thread that helps outline casting numbers
Spank - unable to reach thread on casting numbers - I believe the 22A1522 and 22G1128 to be 'S 3-sync. I also found 7 22G68's this afternoon - some were Cooper, some MG1100, some just run of the mill...

It seems that every gearbox thread discussion I have seen the info on the 4 sync 22G846 box is rather inconclusive. You see reports of this box on all different models and motors, including Cooper S. Thats a mystery I'd like to unravel a bit further.
I have a 22A1522 Cooper S box I'd part with for some reasonable $$$ too. :-)

Thanks for the info guys. I have 2 boxes, one was from an MG 1100, though the other I am not so sure of it's origin.
I'll check the casting numbers.
Pete

Is there any value to a 3 synchro box that needs rebuilding?
