Recently, I was able to obtain a new, never built 12G295 head. Will go in my baggage to Australia to be worked by Russell Engineering.
On getting home with head, +100 pistons/rings, RE cam, RE intake, I look forward to rebuilding the stock 1098 into a 1185 with almost twice the HP/torque. Will use Cooper Freeflow exhaust to RC40. Fortunately, a good friend is an expert at rebuilding transmissions so the 4-synchro will get the mods needed to serve the higher output - central oil pickup, pressurized layshaft etc.
Otherwise going where Minis unlikely to go in OZ across the Gibb River Road - well maybe 50 years ago with 3 Minis, 5 friends to help get Minis across the north...BUT the GRR did not exist then!
