Spank, I've never dug up the start date for the D. I just know it as late 1960, and that doesn't help if there was a difference between Cowley and Longbridge cars. And is Oct 1960, "late"? Your Countryman would be a Longbridge car, not that that helps a lot!

A set of road trip reasonable condition D type caps have been sent across one country to be taken to another country to be placed on the car so it might be correct.
Which means, if you have nicer ones, that would be even more awesome.

I know I have a box of them somewhere, I will rummage and see if any are any good...

I believe I have some NOS ones or if not new, they were in super condition when I packed them away. I was hoarding them for my Oct 1960 Countryman.
If you learn, however, that what is more correct for a Oct 1960 Countryman is the square hole, I will happily trade you. Admittedly, I'm too ignorant and lazy to do the research myself.
You, however, are intelligent, informed, and motivated.
