Also... don't use a tube if you don't have to. Water can/will get inside the rim where a tube valve stem passes through. Over time that will allow corrosion to start on the inside of the rim. That's not the end of the world but it does often mean that once you start using a tube you will have to use a tube from that time onward... forever.

Darren, what Wille meant was first check the centre valve, not the whole stem. Spit on your finger ,wipe it over the stem opening. If there are bubbles, use a slotted valve cap to remove the valve. Clean and replace. Or buy some new valves and replace them all. Still a good idea would be to spray soapy water over the whole wheel / tire assembly . Do them all while your car is up on stands, when your addressing the header leak. Cheers

If you mix up some dish soap and water, put it in a squirt bottle and spray it around the valve stem. A leak there will be visible right away with the presence of bubbles. If that's not it. Spray all around the lip of the rim. If you see no bubbles there. Try the tire itself, you may find the remnants of something embedded in the tire. Failing all that, pop the wheel off and try the inner rim/sidewall.

That is a terrific first step, and it never occurred to me. But thank you, that’s exactly what I’m going
to do.....pick up a couple ( a spare too ) of valve stems and try a change- out. I have a good quality
compressor in my ( daily driver ) Kia’s trunk to make a reinflation easy. I tip my hat in thanks ??

My Mini has a slow air leak in one of the wheel/tires. Is it a safe idea to put a tube in a Minis 12 inch
(mine ) wheel, or do I have to take the ( alloy ) wheel to a specialist ? Thanks ...Darren
