Why not also use the hole in the floor that is 'closer" to the back of the seat back?    Further from the tank outlet .. Let the line have a longer route from the tank outlet to the floor hole?

Also add a few more inches for future tank movement needs... just make sure they're all secure under the floor on the outside.

This one?

I would also ask about the wires being routed through the holes in the seat back. It looks like they traverse the load area. There are better options.

+1 to get rid of the twist. It may be due to the hose being a bit too long.

Your local Ace hardware has a good selection of grommets.

Because my mini is a converted SPI to carb it has the 3 hole rubber grommet in the boot. I would untwist the hose an use a rubber grommet they're readily available at a decent hardware store I think it would be better safe than sorry.

Both of my Minis have rubber grommets protecting the line where it goes through the boot floor.

Thanks Doug - I agree on the shape of that line.

I can only comment that the spiral twist looks "bad". I would be concerned about the fuel line becoming restricted and choking fuel flow.

My car does not have a grommet or other device protecting where that line passes through the boot floor.  I agree that it looks like an accident waiting to happen.  However, I have replaced that fuel line a couple of times due to tank leaks (not hose leaks) and I never noticed any chafing or cuts in the hose.

Im curious on thoughts around the pics here of my fuel line coming off the tank and into the boot floor.  Engine runs like a champ, but I am concerned with 1) the spiral shape of this line routing and 2) possibility of the line getting damaged by rubbing against the boy work.

Question is - should that line not have this kind of shape/kink and was there a grommet for this line to protect it from the entry point into body work?  Any advice on how I can protect it better where it goes into boot floor?  There is not much room left to say use a plastic spiral protector, etc.  Its just enough room to pass this line freely into the boot floor with no pinching, etc.

(the other hole pictured is for the smaller tank vent line)
