That's why Ed Roth died with lung problems. He would do all his fiberglas and airbrush work without a proper respirator or fresh air system. He was a creative genius of special art cars.

As a boy growing up in the 60s, I enjoyed building models of George Barris and Ed Roth's cars. It wasn't until I was an adult and actually saw some of these cars in person that I realized the Roth cars were well engineered and well built. The Barris cars were junk; Hollywood props mostly. Check out the "hood vents" on the Sonny & Cher Mustangs. Thery're actually paint roller pans cut in half and glued to the hood.
My Cars & Coffee club took a road trip to Barris' shop in Studio City, CA a couple of months ago. I usually sign-up for these, but I took a pass on this one.
