What do you think ?

Having driven some thousand miles to get there, and facing some thousand back, we ranted the tits off them !

I was already well up into fourth between the Ascari chicane and the Parabolica before Paul changed up.  His was a bog-standard 998 City-E with at least a 3.1 and probably a 2.9 fd, mine had a 3.2 on an HLE gearset under a 1050 so it's not a totally fair comparison.

Stringer (who's face is peering into the lens at the start) totally forgot there was a chicane on the main straight... the kerb hopping was real, and those kerbs mean business - far lumpier and nastier than a normal sleeping policeman.

One would think. Unfortunately, the closest F1 track is in Long Beach, CA about 130 miles from home. And it's a street circuit, so no big deal. I've seen the "Minis Around Monza" video before—loved it. What an opportunity. Hope those (essentially) street Minis had some tall gears, or at least their drivers showed some discretion during those 2+ mile straights.

Yeah, I know. Totally fake. There's a reason we're called "Poser MotorSports."

Video and sound sampled at 4X normal speed. So your estimate of 16k (divided by 4) is about right! I thought it sounded a bit like an F1 car too.

Having been to 4 Formula 1 races, the soundtrack sounds like F1 to me. Perhaps it’s a result of the high- speed dubbing ? Very cool, well thought out video, in any case ! Cheers, Darren.

We were slightly better at -8 C , but almost no wind. Getting close to Mini season though... :)

That video was a treat Michael ! Very well done...you sure have that A series well tuned. Pneumatic valve closing by the sound of it. You seem to hit the powerband at about 16 K rpm ? Love a normally aspirated F1 Mini !

Encore, encore ! Darren.

Thanks for sharing Michael. Great car in a beautiful part of the country. Makes me long for my days driving my Porsche 356 through the Santa Barbara Valley wine area, especially Foxen Canyon Road.......good times indeed!

A run up Old San Marcos Pass Road with Rosebud looking and sounding like a Formula 1 racer. Check out the switchbacks starting about min. 1:15 requiring a 250 degree turn on the steering wheel. [link]
