I got the same email. I knew it was bad because the grammar was bad and him asking if the photos were current. Ha ha, there wasn't any photos on my ad. Cash sales only!

Postal money orders. A dollar in change for up to $1,000. And you can always get several thousand dollars worth

I got the same email. "Mr Wilson"

I just emailed the username and a copy of the email to the webmaster so he could delete the user.

Hay! my wife's from Peru! and um, you are correct. The best bet on cash in Peru, and probably most of South America is to look for lot's of different money checker stamps on the bill.
A little on line chatting about what they plan to do with their intended purchase, or their need of the thing, can often firm up your suspicions of a fraudster.

+1

A common problem no matter where you sell things. Even companies like Mini Mania get them all the time.

scargo.. I have got SAME exact email. I only take DEAD PRESIDENTS.  aka CASH.   and sure do NOT take paypal.com  as buyer can STOP payment on shipped goods or even a car for up to 30 days..  and I only take CASH during banking hours.. so  I can take to bank to verify that cash in REAL. and NOT the fake notes from PERU..   later bc

Do not get involved in a 'we send you' scam
An item . like a trailer, or vehicle or ANYTHING should fully be inspected by a buyer and paid for in person upon pickup... Dont mess around with any other' Arrangments.  unless you can verify ...

(BTW: I like and want your trailer just no where to put it or get it in the near future! )

Goodluck.

My advise is that, if you want to avoid any headaches, only deal with either cash or Paypal (despite their fees, but that is also somethinf you can add to the final price). I would stay away from people you do not know sending you checks,
cheers,
Abel

I have a question for those who sell stuff over the internet. I recently placed on ad on the Parts classifieds on this site, and have twice within the last week received the following email:

..."I am writing in reference to your ad. i am very much interested, i will like to know if the pictures on the ad. are recent and are still available for sale, please kindly avail me some other pictures to view in order to make my choices better. Do you accept checks and wait for funds to clear before our shipping agent have it pick up?

Reply via my email at (***)

I await your response.

Regards,
Wilson"...

So, what's the collective wisdom amongst the troops here. I've seen and heard of this type of crap when using ebay or Craig's List, but have any of you ever received these types of messages when listing parts or cars for sale on MM?
