Interesting. I just saw the link. Apparently the sill pieces are laid out in the opposite position. I guess the guy taking the pic didn't know.

I had a completely different experience. I bought the molded set and it fit perfectly without any heroics or trimming. It took 2 1/2 - 3 hours to fit because of the glued in sections. It was also the first and only carpet set I've fitted to a car. Just my 2 cents.

Just a bit of a rag on Newton for selling carpet sets that need to be fitted. Seeing as how the car has not changed dimensions for 50 years, one might think that when you buy a carpet set, that they eventually got around to making the slit for the steering column, trimming the inner sill sections, etc, and rewriting the instructions.
I've been a pattern maker in the furniture industry, along with a host of other jobs so I've got the skills to fit the carpet.
However, I never thought I'd spend a full day dry fitting it and trimming it to fit.
I realize there are variables, but they could provide a paper template for r or lhd drive cars, or screen the back of the carpets so you can just get to it with a knife.
I'm going to contact them directly, but thought I'd give a heads up here. BTW the carpet is nice. I opted for the foam backed. My thoughts on this item are open as I've not bought other carpet sets from them.
Newton, get a pattern maker in the shop and make em better. Please.
