It would be less work and cost to attempt to rebuild the base cvt yourself.

The gen1 Cooper automatic used the CVT transmission, and the gen1 Cooper S used a 6-speed automatic from Aisin.  

Although it may be possible to swap these transmissions, it will probably take a lot of parts and work.  Here is a partial list of the parts that will need to be pulled from the Cooper S in addition to the transmission:

flywheel
axles 
transmission mount
wiring harness
shift cables & linkages
gearshift

Then there is the issue with software, and I don't know of a solution there...
