Good to see you are getting good tech info on this problem.
What makes me wonder is how a manufacturer can build in 1500 error codes into a brand new vehicle. We're they planning to have that many possible failures?

EVAP / EGR valve stuff is what I'm finding. Rubber hose somewhere is cracked, off, or a valve that operates under engine vacuum is faulty allowing unmetered air into the system

Hello,

2005 Mini Cooper R50 CVT. Went into Limp Mode. Showing Check Engine Light, EML and P1498 code. P1498 code was not in book. I understand it is a Mini dealer code. I checked battery. Car off 13.2 volts and car on 14.1 volts. A few days before I checked engine oil and added about quarter of a quart. I do hear some air from top front of engine area. Has anyone heard of this problem?
