So I ordered a new bearing - pretty cheap but I don't want to just throw parts at it.   We will see - hoping it's not an axle.  I just had the brakes/rotors done by Mini under their maintenance plan so I doubt the warped rotor.  Thanks for the input.

It almost sounds like a warped brake rotor - when was the last brake job and do you know if MINI OEM parts were used?  Can you 'feel' the pulsing when you lightly apply the brakes?

Another possibility may be the axles, but that seems unlikely with only 65k on the car...

You are correct with the symptoms for bad bearings - if they go bad, the symptoms are just like any other cars.....

US
open it up and replace it.  I just did one on my daily driver and it was a single unit bearing hub with bearings already installed. 4 bolts and knocking back the cv joint to get clearance for the bolt removal. It was easy. do your rotors and pads while you're in there.
